My name is Deborah Jones Sherwood. I happily reside in the SW quadrant of Washington, DC, near Nationals Park, Arena Stage, and the new Southwest Waterfront Redevelopment.

I spent many years speaking and writing about the history of America's First Ladies. I am the author of "The First Ladies: Their Lives and Legacies" published by Barnes & Noble. I have been featured on television, American and International radio, was a special interest lecturer for Crystal Cruises and traveled Nationally and Internationally speaking about these remarkable women. I was privileged to have had such a rewarding and fun career.

I am the Queen Mother of "The Monumental Ladies of Washington, DC" a local chapter of The Red Hat Society, a social origination for ladies over 50. (contact me for more information)

Several of the essays in this humor blog have been previously published as newspaper columns, others appear for the first time in these pages.

I hope you enjoy them.
